At any time, the rotating inventory includes hundreds of items from England along with furniture, glassware, fine art, pottery, lighting, and carpets. Express your individuality with a unique look put together with vintage clothing from Blue Bones. As owners Lauren and Jeremy Flora tell it, they "fell in love in a pile of old clothes." Their shared passion for vintage led to a succession of pop-ups followed by a brick-and-mortar shop. On a recent trip to Blue Bones, you could have taken home Betty Boop shoes, troll earrings, and an RL Crest quilted sweatshirt. Thanks to their kids' section, you can have the most fashionable child in town. Blue Bones is open seven days a week from noon - 6 p.m.

Gwen Langford, owner of Second Hand Rose, has a mission to have everyone "add a little nostalgia" to their wardrobe. For more than 20 years, the shop has been selling the finest in vintage clothing and accessories to the community around Petersburg homes for sale. Items date from the 1920s to the 1980s, with merchandise conveniently color-coded to identify the specific era. Sections are designated with whimsical names, such as "Turner Classic" for the 1940s and 1950s and "Polly Esther" for the 1960s and 1970s. Hours are noon - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

At Penniston's Alley Antiques and Collectibles, even the address says "vintage." The shop is situated in two Federal-style townhouses that date back to 1815, having survived a devastating fire as well as the destruction of the Civil War. Owners Sid Scott and Chris Brown built their store around items they collected during their worldwide travels as flight attendants. The home-like setting of Penniston's Alley shows off the impressive assortment of Asian, English Staffordshire, and 19th-century American furnishings. Hours are 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon - 4 p.m. Sunday.
